2008 Reflection

Looking at the last year their are a few things that will forever affect our life in dramatic ways. First little Reed was born and what a joy. We've moved to Boise, and are now in a new chapter of life, we enjoyed living close to Brent and Jan but we have already seen how a greater dependence on one another as a couple. Ross is enjoying his new job, as much as you can enjoy working everyday. The scare of my Father's tumor brought greater light to the meaning of family and the important things in life. As an individual I am striving to take good care of my family and teach my children to love and respect others, and to love the Lord. Ross continues to be a wonderful and encouraging husband and wonderful Father. Dallin makes me laugh and grit my teeth on a daily basis. Just this last week he found an empty toilet paper holder and proudly proclaimed that he was a pirate and he was searching for monsters, he surprised me by finding his underwear (which he will hopefully wear soon) and covering his head with them as he was a King and had a colorful headdress, and monsters live in the laundry room and in the heating system. Reed is growing fast and learning so many things in his first months of life, his smile is enduring and helps to brighten any snowy day.

Brothers

Brothers, as we look to the future we can only imagine that it will be filled with lots of laughs, some tears, a lot of mischief, some rough housing, and some definite time outs...boys will be boys.

Reed at 7 Months

How time flies!!! Reed is an absolute joy...as long as it is light outside...he is a wonderful napper but when it comes to a good night rest...well we're still up 5 or 6 times a night. He is sitting up really well, has one tooth, and is starting to scoot. Reed loves to be with his brother and is ticklish all over. He loves to eat cereal and first foods, even water, although he despises formula and mom's milk. He truly is a blessing.

Jules and Russel

So my awsome sis Jules in engaged. She and Russel will be married on March 27th in the Vernal Temple. I am so excited for them, and nice job on the ring Russel, it looks just like my country gal...boy you surprised us all, Julie you were going to be the city girl with the steletoes and trips to the mall, I think you'll enjoy your boots and hunting trips much more!!!

An Amazing Gift

So this year I received the best gift I have ever been given. Christmas Eve my Father met with the Tumor Specialist at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake and he was told that surgery would not be needed. For those of you who didn't know, my Father was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November. This last month has been one filled with prayers, and how grateful we are to Heavenly Father for His mercies! They will actually be able to shrink the tumor slowly over time with the use of two pills a week forever, and oh how we will enjoy that forever. Family is everything in this world. I just can't say how grateful I am and how much I love my Dad.

The Joy of Christmas with Children

The festivities started with setting up the tree and making a gingerbread house with Dallin. We have loved the snow that continues to fall. Seeing that we would be traveling for the holidays we had an early Christmas at home before starting off to Twin. Dallin is just at the perfect age for opening gifts and seeing the excitement in his eyes was priceless! Reed loved playing with the paper and at 6 mo he did great at opening presents! Christmas Eve was spent with the Hyatt family; we enjoyed a nice dinner and then traveled to see the nativity and lights. The boys were fast asleep by the time we got home. Early Christmas morning Dallin could be heard saying "Oh my gosh a car". We joined him around the tree and enjoyed the holiday fest. We truly have had a Merry Christmas, and couldn't ask for a thing, we are so blessed with wonderful family. We are thankful for the Savior at this time and for his life and example. To you all thank you for the gifts, cards, and love, Merry Christmas to you all!!!

Dallin' s First Horse Ride

Dallin LOVED his ride on Wiskers - a horse my Grandfather got for all the grandchildren over ten years ago. While riding he told Grandpa that one, he wanted to ride by the river and two, he wanted to ride through the river. I couldn't believe how brave he was, it was definitely a hard thing to share with his cousin Kevin. Thanks to my Dad for taking Dallin, and to Hailey and Julie for getting the horses. I even took the chance to ride with Hailey and put the horses in the coral. Needless to say that little saddle was not nearly big enough for my hind-end and it was a good thing that it was only a .5 mile ride.
