Dallin had his first and hopefully only run in with our counter tops. He was running around the kitchen when he slipped and on his way down smacked his cheek on the edge of our rough granite. Luckily we had friends over playing games and we were able to leave everything quickly, even Reed. We were amazed at how brave he was. By the time we got the ER he had stopped crying and was very calm. Of course it hurt when the nurse had to clean his wound, and the numbing process was painful. We asked him what his bracelet said and while studying it he stated, "Dallin Hyatt is brave". Oh it was cute. We wanted for about an hour for the codeine to kick in. The hardest part of the night came when they gave him the stitches. He only needed 3, but it was gut wrenching. It took three of us to hold him down and he was screaming doctor doctor, no no, stop doctor stop. I was so glad then it was over and we could just hold him in our arms and tell him that his owe was going to get better. Later the nurse told him that he was sorry they had to do that to him, and he responded with yeah, you hurt my feelings. Once we got him home he slept until 8:30 the next day and I told him we could just stay home and have fun but he insisted we went to the library. A few of the children were curious of course and there was a few times that he stuck his fist into the air and stated that he had to go to the hospital, luckily he didn't hit anyone, but he was a little feisty for sure. He enjoyed your phone calls and grandma and grandpa Hyatt brought over a get well present. Here are some pics we took with Ross's phone, it was a good way to entertain Dallin as we waited.

these pictures were hard to look at,DALLIN HYATT IS SO BRAVE!! That was a very hard thing for mom and dad to have to watch and do. Boys like scares they think they make them look tuff. Tell Dallin I love him and that I hope his cheek feels better real soon. Thanks for sharing pictures of the boys they are so darn cute.mom
Don't you wish little things like this didn't have to happen to our babies! My sister's little 2 yr old boy sliced his head open last Friday at my house with just Alyvia and I home. He ended up with ten stitches right in the middle of his forhead! Terrifing!! I wish I could have kept it from happening, but it was just one of those fluke things. I hope Dallin heals up good! Such a cute kid even with stiches on his cheek!!
Hi Jamie! Thanks for your comment! You were so good to take pictures of Dallin! Not fun to look at now, but ones you'll want to pull out when he is older! His eyes are so sad! He had some nice colors going on today around his eye! Very impressive, he went all out on this battle wound! What a cute kid though.
He is one brave little man!! And so hilarious!! I'm so sorry that happened...it is SO incredibly hard to see them hurting. Give him a hug from all of us! And, we are back....hopefully we see you sooN!!!

Oh, ouch! Poor little guy! It's so fun to catch up on your blog and see how well you guys are doing! I'm glad Dallin is okay. That's so scary! It's hard to watch your kids get hurt, even if it means the doctor is trying to make them better!
He's one tough little buddy!!! I'm glad they were able to fix him up well!
We're so glad to have you in the ward! You guys are great!
Your boys sure are growing up fast. Hope there are no more trips to the ER!
I'm so sorry to hear about that!! what a brave little guy. I hope it heals well and that he gets feeling better. I too, hope it is your only trip to the ER.
Oh man that makes for an intense evening! I'm glad your brave boy is on the mend...and I'm impressed how well mom held up (don't see any tears...brave mommy).
